Q&A With Mary & Matt
Why Did You Start LEM Photography?
I have always loved photography. I have many memories looking through boxes of my mom and grandma’s old photographs as a child for hours. I learned about people I had met or not met and heard stories about the people I know and love that may have been forgotten if not for the photos we were looking at together.

As a teen, I always had a disposable (showing my age here) camera with me for every event until I took my first film photography class in high school. Once I learned how to use a real camera, I never put it down. Every family event or trip to the cider mill was an opportunity for a photo shoot.
I am known for my artistic twist, quirky personality, and unique style of photography (emotive, cinematic, contrasted). I am most proud that my company is inclusive of all body types, races, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I love nothing more than when a couple tells me they are interested in my photography because they saw someone who looked like them in my portfolio. That’s why my motto is “Authentic art for everyone!”
What sets me apart from other photographers is my artistic perspective, my desire for people to be comfortable and have fun during their photos, and my organizational skills and experience that help a wedding day to flow effortlessly.
What is Your Goal With LEM?
LEM Photography LLC loves to create authentic art for everyone. My goal is for you to leave a session feeling so good about who you are and then delivering photos that make you feel like a piece of art. I hope that the photos I produce will bring back memories for these families. Like the photos I would look through as child, I want my photos to bring them joy for years and generations.

What would you say are a few of your favorite things?
I love my dog Crumpet (picture below), coffee, and my kids (L.E.M are actually the initials of my kid’s first names! Me and Matt also love Gilmore Girls, The Office, and traveling!
